Movie Review By Vanessa

Stealing the moon may not come so easy if you don’t have a loan and a shrink ray!
This is a great movie for the family. Silly villains, cute kids, heart warming story line. Steve Carrel, voice for main character Gru, is hilarious in this action packed kid’s comedy.
Gru wants to be a great villain, but he can’t seem to be successful with any of his ideas. When someone steals a pyramid, its up to Gru to show Dr. Nefario, voice by Russell Brand, that he can do even better by stealing the moon. In hilarious attempts to get a loan from the bank of evil and stealing a shrink ray, Gru comes face to face with the dork who stole the pyramid. A young new villain named Vector, voice by Jason Segel, a nerd who gives Gru a run for his money.
The animations in this movie are hilarious. Gru, for example, has a huge nose with a small head, and a huge body with tiny legs. I found this quite cute throughout the movie. The camera angles are amazing, from the girls perspective looking up at Gru’s huge scary house, to Gru’s perspective on a rollercoaster ride.
Miranda Cosgrove voices as Margo, one of the three orphan girls Gru adopts as part of his plan to steal the moon. Although he falls in love with them and keeps them as his daughters.
I personally thought that Agnes, the smallest of the three girls, was adorable. With her love for unicorns and forceful personality, the little girl was my favorite part of this PG animated comedy.
This is a great movie, you have to see it.
